July 11th, Sweet Saturday Roses

By Tasha O'Neill Photography
Saturdays.  We always look so forward to them, don't we? We prize them above Fridays and even above Sundays.  I think that's because they're the one day that you can really choose what to do with your day.  You're not finishing your weekly business like you are on a Friday, and you're not getting ready to start your week like you are on a Sunday.

Saturdays are In Between.  And they are precious.  Especially when the weather is nice or at least tolerable.  Saturdays are our "choice" days.  We can choose to socialize or do home repairs and improvements or just hang out and be lazy.  Some of us take the chance to do chores.  As a stay-at-home mom I usually don't choose do to chores on a weekend, but the need does arise.  I don't do them with the same GRRR ATTACK!!!! that I might approach them with during the week, of course.  Because, of course, it's SATURDAY.

I would also like to share that I'm merging this blog with my original blog and migrating to Wordpress, at least for now.  This is as I posted on what used to be my "A Queen Raising 3 Princesses" blog and updated to "A Royal Mess" but here's the new information.

Migrating

Migrations are a natural part of evolution for many species, especially humans.  Even when they're sitting on a couch with a laptop.  I've decided to migrate over to Wordpress, but all of my posts are over there as well as the posts from my Shower of Roses blog.  :-)  Please feel free to migrate with me and subscribe to my Wordpress.

April 11th Manic Monday Roses

Monday! Or should I say, "Blah, Monday.  Humbug."

My first happy is this picture of the lavender and cream roses I found.  They're just so pretty I can't help but smile.

Once again, coffee makes the cut.

So does not having to be anywhere today once my kindergartener gets on the bus.  I can veg out on the couch with my tissues and coffee and cold medicine and I can even nap if I want to.

Which brings me to wearing pajamas all day.

April 9th Roses

On this beautiful Saturday, what's contributing to making you happy today?

Today, I keep giggling at how silly the cats get when playing with their toys that have catnip.

Snuggling with above kitties.

Soft pillows. Soft blankets. Naps. Not having to be in the emergency room. :-)

April 8th Roses! TGIFriday

Roses by Gertrude
What is your happiness for today? Something big or little? Secret or shout it out? Please share!

My current happy is the scent of pizza baking in the oven, and sitting next to my youngest daughter waiting for it to finish.  I'm  happy that she's happy since we had a rough day today.

An unexpected happy was how good it just felt drinking a tall cold glass of ice water.

I'm looking forward to my day's final happy: falling asleep.

April 7th Happies!

It's Thursday! For many of you, it's payday! There's a good reason to be happy.  Who has a payday today?

I'm enjoying a hot mug of vanilla pomegranate tea from Design a Tea this morning.  Last week I had a mug of "cherry chocolate cordial" which was cherry and mocha.  They were free samples that I got to "create" myself.  I only had to pay $1 for postage.  They sent one of each flavor I created in a normal envelope with their header on it.  So happy.  Delicious.

My eldest daughter was finally well enough to go to school this morning! SO HAPPY! ;-)

Hot shower.  Not just the hot shower, but a really pretty smelling new shower wash I picked up.  The scent it called heavenly vanilla.

I have a lovely body lotion that was given to me as a Christmas gift called Grace, and it's like butter when you rub your hands together.  It seriously just melts into your hands and your skin as it warms up.  Such a nice little happy.

What are your little happies today? I know you have at least one or two!

April 5th Roses: Getting Through Hump Day!

Roses by Gertrude
Is midweek really that stereotypically difficult to get through for you as it seems to be for everyone else? Is Wednesday more of a glass-half-full glass-half-empty sort of day? In an effort to try to exude a more positive outlook, what if we looked at midweek and instead of saying, "Blah, three more days until Saturday" we said, " Only two more days until Friday and then the weekend! The week is half over!"

We could also schedule a treat for ourselves midweek to look forward to which can help make the week pass more pleasantly.  It doesn't have to be something extravagant nor expensive, just something small that you can look forward to.  I'd love to see some ideas you have for midweek pick-me-ups.

Today's happy is that my two sick girls are feeling much better.  One is well enough to go back to school this afternoon.  The other is sitting up and eating and playing her DS.

Another happy is that even though it was supposed to rain today in the week's original forecast, it's sunny and beautiful.

Not only are my crocuses blooming, but I can see shoots for my daffodils.

My eldest daughter found my lost-since-Saturday cell phone.  Apparently it was in the couch she's been sleeping on since Saturday.  Hmmm, correlation maybe?

One more happy that I can't resist: an online friend-ish person that is a co-member at a community I visit finally gets to go to court saying that they can bring home their adopted baby.  It's a wonderful, wonderful day and I hope that the weather they're experiencing is as lovely as it is here.  I hope that everything goes smoothly in court and that their first meeting with their daughter is full of joy.  I wish I could be a butterfly on the wall to witness such an amazing event.

April 4th Roses

My middle daughter was having a very, very difficult morning before school today which worried me about how it would affect her day at school.  She has Autism Spectrum Disorder so this is a very real concern on a daily basis.  She was so distressed at having to go to school today when she knew her sisters would be home (very) sick that she tried to make herself vomit in between kicking and punching.  That's not my happy.

I called the school to see how she was doing and not only was she doing well, she was giggling and enjoying her day.  Such a happy!

I tried Bailey's Creme Brulee coffee creamer in my coffee this morning, and it's pretty good.  I'm still waiting for mocha and cherry, but this was a nice change from the vanillas that are very sweet.

Finding the rose photo for this blog post this morning made me smile.  I love roses.

I would love to hear about your happiness today.  Big or small, dramatic or subtle, what makes you happy today?
